More and More
by Margaret Atwood

More and more frequently the edges
of me dissolve and I become
a wish to assimilate the world, including
you, if possible through the skin
like a cool plant's tricks with oxygen
and live by a harmless green burning.

I would not consume
you or ever
finish, you would still be there as the air.

Unfortunately I don't have leaves.
Instead I have eyes
and teeth and other non-green
things which rule out osmosis.

So be careful, I mean it,
I give you fair warning:

This kind of hunger draws
everything into its own
space; nor can we
talk it all over, have a calm
rational discussion.

There is no reason for this, only
a starved dog's logic about bones.

This is a little bit less than a week away(Sunday!). It’s Caution Critters last show. The first time I saw them was this summer at I show I booked at the Brandeis house. I had never heard them before, and honestly I didn’t even book them, I had to combine the show I had booked with another show Paul was setting up. I was looking forward to seeing them because they were my friends, but I don’t care for mathy and/or instrumental music, so I wasn’t really expecting much. To tell the truth, I expected to be bored. Instead what I saw was this insane blast of emotion that made me feel euphoric and devastated at the same time. So much so that I couldn’t even watch the 2 bands that played after they did. I literally just couldn’t handle it. That set they played that night was hands down the best set I’ve seen from any Louisville band minus the last Mountain Asleep show. I would say check out their demo and see for yourself, but it really doesn’t do it justice at all. Come to this show. I am not writing this because those 3 gentlemen happen to be my friends, or because I want tons people to come to this show because my band is playing, I couldn’t care less. This is going to be their last show, and it would mean a lot to me if they were able to go out with a bang. Please reblog this and spread the word.

so happy i can go to this now yay
