More and More
by Margaret Atwood

More and more frequently the edges
of me dissolve and I become
a wish to assimilate the world, including
you, if possible through the skin
like a cool plant's tricks with oxygen
and live by a harmless green burning.

I would not consume
you or ever
finish, you would still be there as the air.

Unfortunately I don't have leaves.
Instead I have eyes
and teeth and other non-green
things which rule out osmosis.

So be careful, I mean it,
I give you fair warning:

This kind of hunger draws
everything into its own
space; nor can we
talk it all over, have a calm
rational discussion.

There is no reason for this, only
a starved dog's logic about bones.

I didn’t go to bed until 8:30 a.m. because my friends and I stayed up so late talking about religion (mostly since one of them is a Moonie so we kept asking him questions). And we didn’t even get to see the lunar eclipse, which is the reason we were staying up late anyway.

i am so tired.

Daniel Ellsberg Among Anti-War Protesters Arrested At The White House
On the same day that President Obama and his advisors declared that the United States is “on track” in Afghanistan, hundreds of anti-war protesters gathered outside the White House to voice their dissent.
Among the protesters was Daniel Ellsberg, the former military analyst who in 1971 leaked the Pentagon’s secret history of the Vietnam War to the press. At the rally today he spoke in support of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and Bradley Manning, the Army private suspected of leaking U.S. documents, for shining a light on U.S. policy and actions in Afghanistan.
“I think they provided a very valuable service. To call them terrorists is not only mistaken, it’s absurd.”
Ellsberg was later one of dozens arrested for failing to obey police orders to clear a sidewalk by the White House. Ellsberg said it was the 80th time he has been arrested.

I can use Visa and Mastercard to pay for porn and support anti-abortion fanatics, Prop 8 homophobic bigots, and the Ku Klux Klan, but I can’t use them or Paypal to support WikiLeaks, transparency, the first amendment, and true government reform.

Heh thank you! I’m a bit confused, i don’t really know anyone who dislikes me all that much, but it was probably just a joke or something.

i am so sick of hearing about wikileaks and julian assange

perfectsituation:

maybe i’m being short sighted or narrow minded or politically ignorant but this story was never even remotely interesting to me

but it’s so awesome! all of this confidential information is now available to the general public, so we actually get to know how our government is representing us, and we know about all of these fucked up things happening within countries and between them that our government was trying to hide from us. i think it’s pretty exciting

plus the way government organizations, visa/mastercard, paypal, amazon, etc. are trying to censor wikileaks keeps reminding me of 1984, like “oh these documents never existed i don’t know what you’re talking about” rewriting history and shit. but maybe (probably) that’s just my imagination wandering

i dislike everything about you. You're so strange and awkward and......ugly.

lol what

can we just go ahead and call a snow day tomorrow so i don’t have to finish my English essay tonight

all right cool thanks

Yeah, cause facebook isn’t entirely 2008 or anything…

Don’t wanna bring my personal views into this blog… but I definitely suspect a media conspiracy ….

It’s not like Julian Assange won overwhelmingly on the online poll and Mark Zuckerberg came in 10th place. nbd.

How do I know that Interpol, Britain and Sweden’s treatment of Julian Assange is a form of theater? Because I know what happens in rape accusations against men that don’t involve the embarrassing of powerful governments.
